Installation of Head unit...I'm stuck

I used to own a mazda mx-6 which i sold but i kept my pioneer head unit. Unfortunately when I bought htis new car the wires for the stereo were all spliced. So I had to hardwire everything ot the harness. Everything is correct, I'm almost certain because I took the Color Chart off of msprotege.com. But for some reason even with everything connected my head unit is still getting no power at all? Like no juice is going to it. Any ideas?

Pioneer seems to have this problem alot, I have had three different decks do this. I was never able to get one to work after. To test one now if someone wants a used installed I just go to the battery and touch the + and - to see if the deck will turn on if it wont it is junk. I have been told they have a resistor or something that burns up easily.
