Indiglo Protege Door Sills (Pics)
 

I was down at the dealer picking up my girlfriend's new P5, and one of my old budies who I used to work with (I was once employd there) came out to say hi. He showed me these sweet-ass door sills that were freshly out. I don't know who makes them, but I know that I'm the first P5 in Calgary to have them put on, and a fellow with a silver one came in just after I did and snatched up the last set. I hear that they're nearly impossible to get because of the limited quantities, but what do you guys think of them? They are linked to the doors, so when any door opens they'll turn on, and then turn off when it's closed. Very high quality polished aluminum, and the fit and finish is great. The box was just a checkerboard pattern, with no company logo of any kind on it. Anyone know who makes these things? I'm really happy with them so far, but I'll let you guys take a look at the pics and decide. I took some in daylight, and some in darkness so you can see the difference. They really are quite bright, and attract alot of attention in parking lots.

o man that's soo cool. i wish they had a normal one for the protege, holdup is there one?? also, maybe i could just cover that 5 up well lol. i'd like to get one of those

if there was a black one you could just use electrical tape and make it "LOOK" like its for the protege...

Hey Max stop showing me these things. Every time I see something nice for the P5 I want to rush out and get it :D.

So if the dealer there got it, the dealers in Edmonton should be also able to get them, no? Any info would be great. Thanks for the pics.

Heh, why do they have a bullhorn thingy on there?

i wonder if they sell those in different colors, i wouldnt want the light blue but red like the interior lighting would make a nice match

the P5 sitting in the showroom at kramer when i bought mine in june had these on it.

there's a set sitting in the display case at kramer right now too.

i don't know the price though.

I just saw them at www.dbmotorsports.com Unfortunatly they only sell stuff for Hondas. They sell for $109.00 for a 4-door Accord.

Okay so I just called dbmotorsports and they do not have any of those sills for Mazdas :( . In fact they have nothing for Mazdas :( :( :(. So I asked who supplied those sills for them and they said APC. He also said that several manufacturers make them but they get theirs from APC. I'm not a big fan of APC stuff so I would like to find out more info. Just got to dig some more I guess.

Someone better head out ot Kramer and snatch those up before I do, and then sell them for a healthy profit! ;)

OK, I can try and talk to my shop and try find a deal for them. Will post later on availability and prices.;)

Just got off the phone with Sunridge Mazda and they have a couple sets on hand but can get lots more within hours.

They are selling them for $220

I'll take a set if they have them for the 323Protege. Anyone from Calgary coming up to this Saturday's meeting in Red Deer that could pick up a set for me? I will have cash on hand.

Hmmm, $109.95 USD plus exchange is about $185 plus shipping so $220 is probably not too bad.

Maybe I'll do springs first at around $350 :).

Whatever guys, I paid $240 tax included. They're worth it in my opinion. You'll hve to see them in person to justify buying them, but once you do, you'll have no problem handing over the dough. :D

So can you get them for me, or tell me where I need to go to get them? Do you think they have them in Vancouver?

I guess one thing to also consider is that these sills are LIGHTED so that makes it a bit different. Obviously not a simple bulb but some sort of indiglo type of lighting? That is probably where all the the cost is coming from.

I think they are great but maybe down the road in my quest to mod the car.
