Is this possible, to tie these two together and "see" where the radar is coming from?

And what about radar jamming equipment? Anything affordable or small enough to put in the car?

Just some thoughts.

 

Buy a Valentine One. It will tell you which direction the radar is coming from and the number of working radars.

As far as jammers, they are illegal in almost every state. Don't even think about getting one of those "phaser" jammers. They are just a cheap little plastic box with some electronics in it that does nothing. Everyone that has tested it with real world radar guns has reported only one thing. IT DOES NOTHING. I'm surprised there isn't a huge class action against the guy that sells them, but then again the people buying them are buying them with intent to undetectably jam a police radar. Not really on strong legal footing if you know what I mean

From what I have seen for radar detector units on the market, none of them have any kind of "smart" output that could do what you want. Plus, in order to pin point a signal to the degree of precision you are looking for you would need a much more advanced antenna system than what is in a commercial radar detector.

 

You would probably require more than one receiver. At least two seperated to give you a rough direction. But to get the extra dimension (depth), you'd need a third. Hence triangulation...

 

Ya'll are slow and ******* stupid. I KNOW IT WOULD BE EXPENSIVE. And I know GPS only tells me where I am. BUT what if you coud TIE them together??? And the radar detector pinpoint the location of the radar and "SHOW" on the GPS where the radar is coming from.

Menace just added some more facts about GPS and then re-inforced the need for triangulation to be able to do what you want.

So... exactly how are those stupid replies? You have some pieces to the puzzle if you wanted to try and do something with it. Maybe even ask a more intelligent question to further the discussion. Here are some suggestions:

"OK, I now know I need three antennas, does that mean I also need three receviers?" or "What would it take to do the triangulation?"

Instead you choose to come off and insult people. Maybe you should take a cue from your brother's kids and start growing up.
