Gauge questions

Hey guys, where can I get some polished Dave B gauge rings for my 03 LX?, also, I have some new gauge faces on the way. I heard they can be a b!tch to install. Is this true? any pointers when installing them?

I installed mine in less than 20 minutes with a screwdriver.

The street unit rings are an "evolution" of the original daveb rings but I don't think they'll hold as well. I've not had a problem with mine in over 2 years.

Someone mentioned that taking off the needles can become a problem. Throw off the accuracy of the speedometer. Is this true? is there a way around that?

why would you ever remove the needles?? That would be a problem.

the rings just snap over the exsisting bezel under the glass. nothing more. The stuff DaveB made was of the finest skill. He was a perfectionist and everything he did was triple checked and triplechecked again. I highly doubt S.U. would go to the same great lengths as DaveB would've.

yeah i'd rather have the DaveB rings, but they are hard to find. everytime someone was selling them i missed them, so i bought the streetrings. haven't installed them yet though.

i think he means taking the needles of for the gauge faces. most people slide them over the needles some how, but you have to be careful not to break the needles. maybe search about the installation, not sure if anyone has posted anything about them on this forum. i think there are a bunch of threads about them on msprotege

oh, i didn't see the part about the gauge faces....I'd not fool with it.

If you're good with tpae you could slit the faces and then just "clear" over them to hide the seam.

No I got them from corksport. They are white with blue lettering. They should look hot. They have the mazdaspeed emblem on the tachometer. Corksport says they were designed for mazdaspeed owners that wanted a different look than the silver face with red lettering. They are spendy but all that I could find on ebay were the cheapy faces that had the whole face that lit up or reverse glow ones that were ugly as hell.
