gauge cluster?

hey guys, just wondering if anyone has done this (removing the instrument/gauge cluster) and has any tips for me, i'm in a spraypainting mood and need to wind back the clicks just a couple.

You mean roll back the miles?

That is illegal, no one will tell you how or even if they have as you can get in real trouble for doing that. Anything is possible, but dont ask how or post that you are.

maybe get a Protege cluster with a tach from the local wreckers
(cant remember if you have one or not) its an easy swap

It's only illegal if you've done it and are selling the car.

My odo is off by ~400 miles because I removed the instrument cluster to install the brain of my alarm behind it, and didn't put the speedo cable back on right.

btw...if you spray your trim the body color of your car, it looks fricken awesome. The only thing is you'll have to break the clear plastic off in order to get to it . Unless you're more creative than me and can find a way to get it off.

I got mine off without breaking it

must use alot of patience. Cut and pry S-L-O-W-L-Y along the glued edges and it will come off in one peice.

mine looks just like that, minus the clear cover, except mine isn't white anymore, it's red (body color). looks pretty awesome. I'll post pics

thanks man! but, it's not an inlay, it's the actual panel painted silver.
