I have Protege 2002 ES/GT I have fog light, but when I switch to High beam they (the fog) shut off, I want to keep them always on when the head light switch are turned on

 

i think its a DOT regulation that says highbeams are only allowed to run by themselves, not with other lighting (except parking lights)
i guess they dont want it to be too bright...lol


u always can rewire the fogs so they come on with the parking lights...if u want.

jus a thought.

 

You don't want your hi beams on in fog. The low lying water molecules reflect back the hi light into your face. NOt a good thing. Hence, FOG lights can't be on with the hi beams. Hope this helps.

 

Is there a book that I can buy or download (prefered method) that explain wire color code.

I guest the fog light are wired with a relay, and the coil of the realy is on the low beam light, knowing where is the relay and wich wire is the parking light I will be able to switch both wire to light up the fog on parking light.

And if I got blinded by the fog reflect on water, I will use the little switch that control the fog light, and shut them off.
