Egt Parts

The other day someone mentioned the notorious carbonfiber hood topic. They said that an EGT hood will fit, but for the 323 the lights are different and it wont work. Now, what im wondering is if EGT headlights will bolt up so that way, the hood will fit correctly? I was also wondering about the BMW lights too, price wise and how much of a pain in the *** it would be to do? As always thanks guys.

i dont think a egt hood will fit like you think, our current hoods dip down so they match with the grille.

the EGT bumper has a hump in the middle, and the grille is about 1" shorter. You'd need the lights, grille and bumper to make it a perfect fit. Easier to go with the early Protege lights and grille.

As for the BMW lights, if i can ever win a damn auction, i'll have more info...

I want to do the BMW lights too.... If you're trying it, I'll wait to see how it goes for you before attempting it myself.

Yeah I plan on doing the same on my 323. Love that BMW 3 series headlight look.

I will take plenty of pics when I do it.

Yeah I was thinking of a tracer/scort or a pro bumper, which ever looks the best and they have at the junkyards, I may grab up. All depends on condition and price.

We shall see

You can either get early pro headlamps and grill.. or you can get a mercury tracer set of lamps and grill, they don't have that hump. Also, I think the hod should fit quite well. If Jon and I meet up, we can determine it for sure.

As for the e36 headlamps, they are roughly the size of ours, but I have never seen e36 headlamps with out e36 corners, which means you would have to customize the fender to accomidate the corners, which are much smaller. I dunno if the corners are necessary, but I dun think our signal lamps look too good with e36 lamps anyways (proteges can pull it off). Another thing, I heard that even after the custom fitment and all, the head lamps point in the wrong direction! So this seems more like a show mod, and really won't improve visibility. I dunno which direction they point, but I heard it's almost not worth trying. I personally still would, but it wouldn't fit good with my theme. Good luck guys
