when i first toyed with this, it was kinda a bitch. first, a friend of mine bought me some cheap ass POS Pep Boys/Autozone E-brake. We went back, cut off the brake handle (we could find no easier way to do this), and left the bottom part there (cuz we had no boot). Well, when we tried to put the new handle on, it wouldn't fit over, the opening was too small. So, we worked furiously through the night, trying to bore out handle to fit over. Well, one of my friends had the GENIOUS idea of hitting the bitch with a hammer...which only bent the cheap POS out of shape. So another friend bought a new one (same kind). So then when this time my dad and i tried, my dad tried brute force, which i told him was not a viable solution, since we wanted to be able to adjust the handle if it wasn't sitting right. well, he hammered it on there too (when i wasn't looking of course) and got it stuck. finally, but sheer luck, we were able to move it around to where it fit right, but couldn't get the top piece on, and it had a little gap where we had no boot. So i drove with it like that for about a week, then i said "FUCK THIS SHIT!" and ordered me some MOMO stuff. I got a CF handle from them that's a universal fit. now when i say universal fit, i mean this one isn't joking. the handle fit over by a good 2 cm on each side, which i worried about at first. so then i put on the "adapter" which holds the brake push button in place, but it was too small again. Well, we worked for about 30 minutes to try and get this piece to bore out a little, then finally, the glue released, and the adapter fit just right. somewhere before that, i put the brake boot on.
If you're going to do this, don't buy some cheap junk. Trust me on this.
