Door Panel Cloth

Is anyone else's door panel cloth wearing down? Mine has started to wear where I rest my elbow on the door while driving. Argh this is annoying!!! I want to have my car re-upholstered w/ something other than cloth on those panels soon.

Car still under warranty? Mine wore a little bit and I went and had them replace it. I will do so about every six months until my warranty is up, or until the leather kit gets put in.

Mine's the same way man. It's just from the suade getting pushed down. I find that if you take a damp cloth and go over the spot opposite the direction of the grain, it stands it all back up and you're good as new! On a long-term note, I'm going to get rid of that for some red leather.

How much do you think it would cost to cover it with leather? Also, how long would leather last?

Not sure on the cost, but leather would last damn near forever as long as you don't go at it with a knife!

Had my car since June of last year and I have leather on the seats and door panels. Looks brand new.

Was this dealer installed, or did you get another shop to do it? How much did it cost?

Maxx is right - its just getting pushed down by your arm. I vacuumed mine and it restored itself back to the new look.

After thinking about it for awhile, wouldnt a leather insert on the door be tough on the arms during the summer? Leather gets VERY hot when exposed to the sun for a period of time. Im going to stick with the suede material until it becomes a big problem. I know my P5 is hot, but I dont want my arms to be .

Naw... doesn't get hot at all. THe seats on the other hand can get a bit warm. Although I'll never get a car without leather again. (maybe suede like the Audi seats) You can get cooling for them but being a lease, screw that.
