well, these were stains from rust and whenever i washed my car, it wouldnt come off so i decided since i had a lot of time that day to wash and strip it all off. But thanks for the tip. Man, that rain really pissed me off though because I spent 5 hours washing and waxing, less than 2 hours of admiring and less than 5 hrs before it rained. gotta love the tx weather. lol

The best thing is to use a power polisher. I use it at my work and nothing works better than wet sanding and polishing to get rid of imperfections. Its a lot of work but the results are outstanding!

power polishers are great - BUT you have to be aware of the potential dangers . . .

used properly - a lovely thing . ..
used poorly - bad paint . .. or worse . .

What does using the dawn (or can any dish soap be used) do? Besides the obvious, get it clean? I want to start making my car look shiny and sleek! and am looking for any tips. where can you buy that claybar stuff, and about how much does it cost? Are there any good instructions for using it?

Dawn is good for degressing things as in taking off your layers of previous waxes.

This makes the job of the clay bar easier because it will take off the wax anyway.

In other news, I went out and bought some mothers clay bar.
Now should I use there carnauba wax or just go ahead and use my own turtal wax paste which I find works extremly well, with a nice long lasting shine?

I have heard bad things about carnauba like it doesnt do anything. However this stuff did come with the kit.

Do you have to be careful with the dawn though? Will it leave permanent spots if you let it dry? And how much was your mother's clay bar kit? I want to get one!
