Changers need 87.5?

Was driving my GFs car and i couldnt get the changer to work. After several frustration minutes I realized it needed the radio to be played at 87.5FM. Is that how they all go or is it that she just has a POS system?

that is just an aftermarket changer. they hook right into the antenna input on your HU. so the radio has to be tuned to a signal that the changer is putting out.

Its an Fm changer. The only way to integrate a cd changer to a radio that can't support one is to use the radios FM tuner and antenna. Basicly the cd changer has a modual that sits on the anttena cable between the antenna and the radio. When the little control pad for the changer is switched on the radio needs to be set to a certain frequency that the changer basicly hijacks and uses to get the cd changers audio into the radio.

Its not crappy just the onyl way to do it with some POS headunits. As long as the factory radio, if it is factory, can support any cd changer there is probably an adapter to make an aftermarket changer work with the headuit directly and not through the antenna.
