Burning MP3's

Anyone know a good way to burn MP3's with the title and track names on them so I can get my Kenwood to display them?

Use Nero or Roxio. Also make sure your burner is compatible with CD text. Ya might have to update your burner ROM, depending on its age. You also have to burn in disc at once mode. Nero is great & free... sorta. You can get the demo for 30 days from their web site and search the engine for ways to contuinue use after the eval period. Roxio is gonna cost ya. Unless you have mad skill on free software.

I've got Nero permanently...it's a good program but it likes to crash...you might have to reboot your PC after you burn the disc

WTF? What version are you using? Ive NEVER had Nero crash on me, IMO its the best burning software on the market. Some burning software like CDRWIN plays tricks on you like crashing your computer or burning coasters if you use a serial number that is pirated. Not sure if Nero does this. What version of Windows are you running? Reply with this info, I might be able to help :)

Heres some info with links that I found on a car audio page a little while back.

I have NEVER bought software for ripping MP3s. I use Cronic 1.0 (very simple freeware from ZDNet) to rip - I think it only rips at 128 KB/sec, but that is very good quality, and when ripping my CDs to MP3 there is no discernible quality loss.

For ID3 tags, I've been using Internet Renamer (also free from ZDNet) - this one is awesome - it retrieves the album/genre/track title, (ALL the CD information - even the year) from their website, and tags all the tracks with a couple mouse clicks. Very simple, works perfectly.

For burning the discs, I use Just!Burn - it came pre-installed on my Compaq. It's not the best for regular CD burns, but for data (which is all MP3 is, frankly) it works just fine.

You dont have to EVER buy software for ripping MP3, EAC is FREE. Ive never heard of Cronic, but Im pretty sure you have some pops, cracks, and skips in some your songs that you rip yourself. I have tried almost all ripping software, and EAC does the best.

As for 128kb/sec bitrate, 192 is the best to use IMO. As for using Variable bitrate as stated in the link above, I wouldnt do this.

Well, that may be your problem? When you say hacked version, do you mean pirated or actually hacked? Hacked is when there is something physically done to the games installer/exe file. Alot of times this doesnt have to be done, all you need is a valid serial number.

I got the latest version of Nero, since I have unlimited updates when I purchased my TDK burner. You might want to uninstall Nero, and reinstall to see if that helps. You can also try CDRWIN, which is another good burner program. I hate ROXIO :bonk:

Now back to my original question...how can you get the title and tracks labeled to be displayed by a deck?

use a program to generate ID3 tags for each song.

I take it sony Cd extreme doesn't do that? It's the software that came with my burner. I downloaded nero but I don't see where it creates ID3 tags.
