Hey, welcome! I am not sure if Erebuni kit requires removal of rebar, as for other stuff, do a search. I am sure some one already asked this, and it has been answered. Good luck.

As far as I know, the rear doesnt need any moding to make it fit (other than usual body work). Style 728 DOESNT need the rebar removed as it is made for US Spec bumpers (notice how it site far enuff foward as to accomadate the rebar). 924 needs the have the rebar removed or modified as the bumper is just to shallow. You can always get the JDM/J-Spec bumper as well. Order it from www.corksport.com I also have a friend who has a used 95-96 JDM bumper for sale. The price is $250 CDN. It WILL fit on your 97 with no mdifucking (He has a 97 too).
Here is a pic of both bumpers. The blue is the 97/8 bumper and the beige is 95/6...

I was wondering if anybody knew of any body kits for a 96' Protege Lx 1.5L Also if anybody here has a 96' protege, i was wondering what they did to it, to make it look better or what i can do to it to make mine look better. Im thinking about getting tinted windows and body kit, if they make them. Please post a reply. Thanks

Anything for a 97/8 will fit (ie. 95-96)...
However, if you use the 97/8 bumper (JDM or Erebuni) youll have to either include you turnsignals (eg, clear 88-91 civic bumper lenses) somhow in the bumper or make your little running lite corner thingy into a turnsignal Which is easy)...
BTW, like i said in my last post, i have a frine dwho has the JDM 95/6 bumper for sale (Bottom pic)...

yea the kit that I have doesn't require the reinforcement to be removed. Some people still have it on but some take it out. I think it is up to you and the person that is putting it on.

I don't know about that bumper.... I just know that the one that I have...you don't have to remove the reinforcement..thats all... Those J-spec bumpers should be the same. I mean you shouldn't have to remove it either...cause they are pretty much the reall bumper for the Japan cars so ....
