Bicycle rack options

Hi folks: new owner of a 2016 3 Sport here, and a cyclist.

I am looking for any advice on bike racks for my new beast. Hitch-mount? Roof mount? Brands?

I like hitch mount because it's easier to get the bikes on and off and you don't have to worry about denting the roof. The kind that have straps that attach to the trunk are no good because they'll eventually pop the forward part of the trunk, by the hinges, up a little bit. Happened to more than one Protege I know of.

So if you car's a sedan, I'd get a hitch mount, not a trunk mount. Mine is a 4-bike Thule and I have no complaints. Got it off craigslist for like 40 bucks.


EDIT: if you don't have a tow package on your car, here's a good hitch. Kinda expensive, but once its in, you're set for the life of the car.
