Now that i've heard they're all these manufacturers that make DIN pockets for our car, but i wanna know which one is the best one to get?

Expensive, but absolutely YES!

I had a cheap aftermarket pocket, and hated it from day 1. The Mazda one fits perfectly, and looks SO much nicer than anything else.

I've heard that you can also use a pocket from the MPV minvan - it has no door - but I can't confirm the fit.

My pocket is from a '99 Pro (got it off eBay) - check some junkyards for that year, maybe you'll get lucky.

I got the pocket style one from my dealer for $12 AUD it looks pretty good?





at first I had a silver trim around the head unit but it looked *****... so I put on the black one, tis much better...

 

Is that the MPV pocket? Hmmm...do they have the MPV down under? It's the Mazda minivan in the States. That pocket does look very nice - MUCH nicer than any aftermarket one - and at $12 or whatever (I think it's similar price here in the US too) it's a steal.

Expect dealer cost to be about $70 or so - maybe higher. Retail price is from $80 - $100

It's nuts - but that's what they get for the covered MP3 pocket.

I know - I paid $40 for mine off eBay, and that's still too high.

BUT - like I said, mine is from a '99 - so check some junkyards - or talk to a mazda dealer, get the part number, and try to find out whatr other years of Pro (besides the MP3 and MSpeed) used the pocket - maybe the '99 isn't the only one - and check some junkyards for those years. Guaranteed discount if you find a used one.
