B&M Short shifter rattle

I installed the short shifter and it rattles both the stich and the exhast heat shield. Does anyone else have this problem? If so has any one fixed it? I installed the snap ring and all the nessary hardware.

there is a step in the instructions for you to bend down the front of the heat shield so that the shifter won't hit it.....did you do that? are the two touching? if so....that is probably where your rattle is coming from. Check it out.

I did that! I am talking about I have to have my hand on the stick all the time or it rattles. Not the heat shield but the stick is loose. I installed the o ring and the clip. Thanks for the help I will try to bend it somemore.

as The Man noted...it sounds as though you may have forgotten the bushings that you were supposed to remove from the bottom of the stocker and install in the B&M...there is certainly something a miss, that is for sure.

All the bushings are there. There is a smidgin of play up and down in the shifter ***. I made a small disc today and installed it below the snap ring but on top of the o-ring and it cleared up all the problems. Thanks to all who replied
