awg fuse?

so im installing my amp and i happen to (somehow) break the fuse. I believe it was 60awg. I need your guys opinion on this. My crossfire guide to the 5 channel amp said I needed a 100awg fuse. So I was happy i broke it? anyway i can't find any place with 100awg fuses. plenty of 60awg fuses out there tho. I am running 300watts to the sub and 50 watts to the 4 channels. would 60awg be enough? thanks

I believe that AGU fuses only come as high as 60A, if you need 100A, then you will have to swtich to a ANL type fuse and housing. Check out http://knukonceptz.com for fuse holders and fuses.

No, actually there are 80AMP AGU fuses. I was going to buy one from Knukonceptz, but they were out of stock. They only have them in a kit right now...

if your setup was fine with the 60 amp fuse, just go to radioshack and get a new set of 60amp fuses (that's where I bought mine - they also have a red light inside that shines when the fuse is burnt). if you go with the 100amp fuse, there is more chance of burning something other than the fuse. I think you'd prefer to burn a fuse rather than your amp(s). think about it...

if his amp says it needs 100 amps then it needs 100 amps, not 60. his system will not run properly without proper power. and if he is constantly poping fuses, there is a small change of a fire.

ugh, you are right...
I advised him on getting the 60amp fuse again because I thought that he had his install running. I missed the fact that he is INSTALLING it right now...

in this case, it is better to follow the maual

i saw the first post was like, crutchfield, i am missing something. anyways, if you want, you can get resettable fuses and won't break and ruin.
