2nd Gen Projector headlight?

Completely missed this thread.........but, this: 87193A - H9 Connector w/pins & seals, and this:78178 - Replacement 65w H9 bulb, fromhttp://www.susquehanna.com/susq/hella/headlamp.htm#90mm. Is all that you need to connect the Projectors after the housings are made and the high/low projectors are made, or how are these actually going to be wired? Any one maybe have a diagram. I know a guy that can lay carbon fiber, well that's what he says, and hell i'd pay the 400 total to fab up some projectors for my car. BTW i saw the Focus lights and they look Baaad. Have a really nice purpleish tint to them. These are the same projectors, right?

Once I get rolling with this stuff, I will be taking request on parts to be made.

The best way to do this is to make a mold of your stock headlights, on the new mold, I would get E-code projector housings either from some other car that has E-code projectors, or buy "universal" aftermarket E-code projectors (if they're available)... you'll still have to figure out what to do about the high beams though... provided that you put in a secure and reliable means to adjust the lights horizontally and vertically, it should give you a definate lighting performance upgrade... if you don't do it right, it'll be a hazard... if you don't feel up to it, get the e-spec headlights, they're glass and the later 2nd gen ones have clear lens.

As for that pin kit... That will work for pluging into the bulb, but the stock connector will either have to be cut off, or add the new connector. If you just add in the H9 connector, it will allow you to easily go back to stock setup (If you sell the car).
So far I've taken a stock 90-93 lense and filled off the plastic bumbs, and filled in the resulting holes. I should be able to make a mold of it tomorrow.

would you be able to mock up some pic to show us what it might look like? how many would you need to be interested and willing to pay for you to do it? and are you we talking the same cost you mentioned for the 1st gen? or differen't price?

This will not be a limited production thing. I will make a mold, and as people decide they want them they can buy them. I'm sick of these one time only things people do with the proteges. It would likely be the same cost, but it all depends on whats involved. I havent inspected second gen headlights very closely, so I'm not sure what extra work (if any) that it will take. If there is a difference in cost, it would most likely be minimal.

Are you talking 150 for both housings w/ projectors in them, or w/o projectors, just housings? If it's 150 w/o projectors, which i'm pretty sure they are, then its gonna cost almost 400 total anyway. So you've actually atarted on these! Yeah 1st gen projectors for ALL!!

which "hella 90mm" lights are you getting? what is the part number? Are you getting sealed beam type housings but with replacable bulbs?

I won't actually be making projector lights like regular cars come with. It will be a fiberglass housing (maybe carbon fiber down the road) that holds those HELLA 90MM modules. One bulb for high beam, and one for low beam.

You guys are giveing me ideas for my brothers Geo Storm, he doesn't like his headlights and we talked about doing something like this, but anyway.
After everything is all said and done, like i said i know a guy that says he can do carbon fiber, he was supposed to make a lip for someone that i know. So i can check this guy out. Then you can send me a mold and We can have Carbon Fiber ones. I'm pretty sure this guy won't charge too much i've known him for a while now.

It seems like you're makeing them for the 90-93 1st gen Pros, but what about the 323's and 94 pro's? Maybe if there's enough interest, or would it not be that hard? Seeing as you're using the almost same headlamp?
