2000 protege body kit

This is a homemade modified bodykit (o.e.m. eurathane), all from scrap yard at a low price. It's professionally painted. It requires cutting, sanding, and most of all imagination.

00-pro-lx, touring pkg., 5-speed, black, tints, fogs, clear lights, lowered, meshes, alum. int., bodykit, & more, spicy looking.

OMG, that is NICE!!! I'm not a fan of the altezzas and the big wing but the car looks really really nice. Yours is a 2000 right? Where did you get the silver accents for the center console and door panels? I'd really like to know how you made that custom grille.

Nice job!

I'd like to know where you got the front lip stuff. I'm thinking about using the Mazda stuff for the sides and rear, but want to do something like what you have for the front.

Aluminium sheet from 'HomeDepot' $10.00 cdn.. Use masking tape to trace patterns; vents, window conrtols, etc.. Peel the tape patterns back out and stick them to alum. sheet. Cut them out with scissors and stick them back on with double-sided tape. Use flat head screw driver to shape curves and contours along edges. That's it, I'll post pictures up soon.

Front corner lips, just go to scrap yard and pick up something that resembles your bumper corner. Cut them to fit the way you like it and use hair dryer to heat it up and press it against your bumper and 'voila' perfect fit. This may require several tries. that's what I did. Have the parts professionally painted though. Installation; with double-sided tape (3M) and few screws, hopefully hidden from view.

that's EXACTLY what i am looking for!

i am looking to try this project myself. i went to a junkyard yesterday morning to look for some sideskirts. what type of car did you get the lip from? like, what car is the closest measure to the 3rd gen. i am thinking toyota corolla (newest gen) or the 96-98 civic would be a good fit. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this idea since last year, and finally, it's completed. It'll take a good week to complete if you put your heart and soul into it. Total cost for the bodykit / spoiler and painted is less than $450.00 cdn., slightless went over my budget of $400.00 cdn.. But the result is _____!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vehicles to look for in scrap yard; pontiac grand-am; pontiac grand-prix; ford tempo; geo metro.... It's better to look for cars that are bigger, this way, it's easier to cut materials away to fit. Otherwise, you'll be wasting more time trying to make up the difference (add extensions). Anyhow, good luck on your project and drop me a line if you have more questions.

Phyba: those are nice rims, they looked like 18". Nice and smooth look on those silver colour. My rims are 17" (Shu-4 type) with 205/40 R17 (Nankangs). I am considering Toyo tires next year.

The Man: no, I live in Hamilton, I also have attended several Protege-meets in Toronto / Markham. See pictures of the meets posted at 'www.toprotege.com'.

Funny thing, I originally wanted those shu-4 in gun-metal, I think the cost was extra $50.00 cdn. per rim. I was o.k. with it but they only had 3 in stock, so I settled for the silver, didn't want to wait for another week to ship. Yeah, the gun metal looks way better, go for it.

yea

yea

i am kinda worreid they wont look good. but they look pretty good on your car.

so i'm hoping that the gun metal with matcht he silver and make the car look a little more agressive.

what do u think?

i wish i could just see the actual rim on my car to kind of get an idea of what it would look like.

I would personally prefer gun metal finish, because it reflects better at night time, but the silver is just as good for the lower price difference. Before you purchase, you should place the rims at your car to actually see the overall, that's what I did.

About resizing the pictures, this is the first time I posted and I don't know much about computer stuff. In the future, I'll try my best to size it down.

Front grill-mesh; thick aluminium mesh (diamond-shaped) with chrome edgings. Installation; strong double-sided taped (3M) along edges plus several wire ties to original grill (behind). No removal of original parts or drilling. It has withstand through the winters and several small ice storms.
