If the one you are talking about is up the road from Square one I would advise against that. I took my supra there, he doesn't take the doors off. He just brutalizes the dust seals. Also I was not impressed with the job he did on the back window. THe tint did not stick to the heater lines. On my brothers prelude he didn't quite match up the two pieces on the back window and there is a line of light coming through. I think you could do better some where else. I am currently looking also for a place to go. So if anyone else has a recommendation for the GTA or Niagara area I would love to hear it.
Stocker.

If I remember right it was 200 plus tax, or around 250
I know the guy charges 250 + tax to do a four door.

All right, I don't mind getting a quote, but I have to tell you I am a little iffy on home jobs. At least the shops offer a lifetime warrenty on their stuff. That is worth a few extra bux to me. But i will email you.

Evil Homer MP5 April-2nd-2002 03:59 PM

Paolo, after i get my wheels, did you want to help me find some places to get the tint done and get qoutes as well.

markmurray77 April-3rd-2002 02:46 AM

At FX they have the tints computer cut and its 250 tax in for 9 windows. They did a great job and a few guys including myself from the toprotege club have had them done there. It's right around the corner from Markahm Mazda and that's where they send all there cars.

That sounds decent. Do they have the whole lifetime warrenty bit?

Also does anyone know if that metallic blue tint costs more than the regular stuff?

Since we are all discussing this and we do have access to the TOprotege club. Have you guys thought of approaching FX with a group to get a discount?
I would be in for sure.
sounds like evil homer and mike moss are also looking for tint. Do we have a couple others?

Do the two other guys have P5's too?

So that gives us 4 people, I would be willing to phone the guy with 5 people. (we can wait to see what happens with homer)

Is anyone from your group in the TOprotege club?

you can count me in for sure, but i don't think i can right away.

maybe on the 27th or 28th of april at the earliest.

i wanna put a few hundred city KMS on the car first before i take it out on the highway.

the kind of tint i'm looking for it 35% up front and 25% in the back.

Evil Homer MP5 April-5th-2002 04:30 PM

Ok, you can count Paolo in, only if he is able to get plates, or dealer plates.

so 50/50 for him.

If his tint place can get me a good deal on a tint job, I will call them tomorrow morning to find out, then I will consider getting my car done with them too. my car is parked, so i would have to find a way to drive my car, so I am gonna need to find someone with a dealer plate that I can use for the day.
Ok, this looks good, we have Evil, Mike (+ 2 of mikes friends), my self and maybe Paolo. Which gives us 5, maybe 6. I will call FX some time this week or next. How is Sat May 4th for everybody? We could probably take up most of FX's afternoon, maybe whole day with 6 cars.

Stocker.

I'm not sure what tint he want's

Thanks.

Evil Homer MP5 April-8th-2002 03:26 PM

(me too)" in off=topic)...anyway...its true he may be biased because he workes there...but there's really no benefit...i think hes the real deal. just a little heads up for "y'all" :bt::bt::bt:
Heck, I don't care where I get it done. If you think you can swing a good deal with the group, give speedy a call. We can compare prices.

stocker April-10th-2002 03:26 PM

Ok I called FX

Basically if your car is a wagon type (P5 and focus I would imagine) 9 pieces he regularly charges 265+tax, for the group 225+tax

regular 4 door is regular 220-240 for the group 200 + tax.

the acura int might be cheaper but bet on 200+tax

The guy really harps on quality, single piece rear window, all laser cut. I asked about removing the door panels. They will do it. One if the think they have to to avoid damaging the seals, and probably if you demand it. Doesn't sound like they cheap out too much.

If mike wants to check out Speedy, we can wait for him, if not I can call back FX and set up a date. He needs 3 hours per car so we can space it out over 2 days.

If everyone can let me know what they want to do, we can save about 30-40 bux on our tint jobs.

hmm, 225+ tax, so about 260 for me.

hmm, let me think about about, call a few places closer.

Mike Moss, could you ask your contact at speedy for me too please???

P5 35% all around.

thanks.

bmassche April-12th-2002 11:54 AM

tint

I got mine done at tint king, one shade darder than legal, i think it was 15% I am happy with it. I have had it almost a year
It cost about $250. I wouldn't get it any darker, or else it is too
dark for night driving.

Evil Homer MP5 April-12th-2002 03:23 PM

Crap, ok thanks mike moss.

I can't do it during the day and burlinton sounds as far or farther than FX in markem.

So, i'm in 100% for the FX deal.
