Exhausts at dealers

Does anyone know if the exhausts they are selling at the Mazda dealers are Mazdaspeed exhausts or Iman Knockov? They're stainless steel but they are pricey if they're not the real thing. Let me know. Thanks MedicNYS

the one's we sell are the new Mazdaspeed exhausts. they are the second generation. cost is about $385 installed (plus taxes of course)

Thats where i bought mine. Sounds good too....Isn't exactly what some of the guys are posting pics of on the board......little different but suits the car. I got mine for $400 bucks with the gasket.....Guy at the parts counter was a great help too........... Hey PERFORMANCE.....are you guys getting any MazdaSpeed Proteges?

Performance September-15th-2002 03:52 PM

medicnys September-15th-2002 07:52 PM

Hey Perfomance thanks for the info. Do you have them in stock? Just to make sure which dealer it is, you're from Performance Mazda?

IMPACT September-15th-2002 10:09 PM

Do u know if you guys are getting them in black later on?

Performance September-16th-2002 07:04 PM

Mazdaspeed's for Canada are only coming in the Orange colour, Black and Orange for the U.S. market. "Medicnys" exhausts are always in stock usually two to three units. And yes I am from Performance Mazda.:D

Hi,

what's the diff between the 2nd and 1st generation exhausts?

The ones ppl have been talking about on this board for that past few months, are those 1st or 2nd gen?

Thx

the first generation exhausts are the ones with the round tip like the one on the MP3, the second gen are an oval tip. You will find the first gens to be buzzy on the highway while the second gens are more throaty sounding

Which generation is mine? Its not on the MP3 and its not oval. I got it from my dealer.

I can't see the tip of the exhaust you would have to hold it upright to see if the opening is flat or slanted.;)

How about this shot?

Performance September-20th-2002 10:50 PM

seems to me this is the first gen exhaust, awesome look and sound do you like it.

Raptor September-21st-2002 06:24 AM

Wold be interesting if you could post a photo of a second gen. I never saw one.

SedanMan September-21st-2002 08:14 PM

Ya, I like the looks and the sound when my engine is cold, but as soon as it warms up the muffler is too loud at highway speeds. I don't mind generally, but when going on long trip with the windows closed, it's too much. I would be very interested to see a picture of the 2nd gen.

Oh yeah, are you saying that the muffler I have is the one that was installed on the MP3s? I didnt think it was and I was a bit worried about clearance issue with the MP3 rear skirt.
