New mazda 6!!!!

Hey guys i might go test drive the new mazda 6 this weekend. they have a yellow one at the dealer now. I think i want the blue though. but they don't have that as of yet. Do you know if they come in a stick. They have that ATX tranny with the manual shift. But i want a straight stick!!

I think i am going to keep the protege though as that is what my wife drives.

i love the way the 6 looks...but with a ford duratec v6 in it i'll never buy it (parents lost a family friend including their infant child who owned a pinto and burnt to death so lifetime boycott for a company that murders people for profit)

yeah, too bad that it doesn't have a Ford engine in it.

Not too mention it also comes with in a 4 all new from the ground up.

So unless you're offended by the fact of Ford owning 33.3% of Mazda, best sell your car now then

thanks for the info...so it does have a ford block in it (just like you said it didn't)...same block used in the svt contour and the x-type jag...so mazda tweaked it some just like jaguar got to do...that posts also mentions that the 2.3 inline-4 in the 6 is also a ford bloc like you said it isn't too

Both engines were design by Mazda. Ford just makes the v6 here in the states. The 2.3 liter engine is built in Japan by mazda. The Trannies on both cars are mazda along with the suspension. Ford hasm had many problems with the Focus. Thats why they are letting Mazda build the engine and suspension for the focus because of there long history of not having problems with the Protege and the Ford Escort with the Bp Motor. Now I just have to find the article and scan it in.

....and anyway why would Mazda ruin such a nice car by using a full-on ready made Ford engine.. that's just sacreligious!!

Unhappy

Just got back from the DC car show. Was disappointed with the 6. Mainly with the interior. The exterior without a doubt is HOT. Interior on the other hand could have had a better finish. Plus, the seats were extremely uncomfortable IMO. Didn’t try the leather seats though. My PR5 has better cloth seats then the 6. Last thing to try is a test drive of course. Should not be dissapointed in that dept i hope.

hmm, i went to the show today as well. I thought the interior was very well done, with the exception of the seats (cloth seats that is, the leather seats were very nice).

everything was soft touch material, and put together very nicely. I actually find the Accords at the display booth to be built at a lower assembly quality than the 6.

the cloth seats on the 6, though tolerable, does look and feel cheap, almost feel like GM upholstery

None here yet but I know the feeling you mean. Almost seems kind of old-fashioned. Or at least appears that way to me.
Black leather in mine anyways. Treated 4 times a year. So that'll be nice.
