Sounds good. Schaeffer's 9 miles from my house so I go there a lot. Been to Gambrill once--man, it's rough and hilly. My hardtail beat the hell out of me, but it was fun!

It's that time again !

Thought you guy's might like to go on a group ride here'e the info :

Yay - it's finally feeling like Fall outside and the trails have gotten alternately crunchy and slick with the fallen leaves.
By now you have probably done one of these at least once.
*ridden with cold weather gloves
*ridden with a headlight
*gotten caught when you wish you'd brought a headlight

Come on out to the Avalon Turkey Day morning ride on Thursday morning, Thanksgiving.

Hammerhead detachment at 7 am sharp! - 1 hour 15 minute hammer loop so those of us who want to can flush the pipes with some hard efforts.

The main group will meet at the PARK AND RIDE PARKING LOT at 8:15 and try to be riding by 8:30. We all know that probably the ride will depart closer to 9, but it's the thought that counts.

I urge everyone to PARK IN THE PARK N RIDE LOT due to the many many break-ins that have occurred along the shoulder of Rolling Rd. Do whatever you want, but the parking lot is a lot less easy target then cars right on the shoulder....Also, last year we were nearly 80 strong, so assembling across the street, not right on the shoulder, is probably a good thing.

In case you forgot or haven't done this before...
This is often referred to as one of the most fun social rides of the year. Open to any and all MTB riders, it is a great chance to ride with tons and tons of people who love to ride their mountain bikes. It's totally unofficial, ride whatever you want, wear whatever you want. We'll hit up the very best of the classics and the new stuff (at least 3 GREAT sections on the ride this year that are less then 1 year old-thanks M.O.R.E.)
(wetness disclaimer) - please use best judgement if conditions are wet - if it's too wet the ride will be postponed

forward this around to anyone in the Baltimore area who might be interested

Please consider a membership to M.O.R.E. and/or I.M.B.A. if you don't have one already-- They are a big reason we have such treasures like the Avalon trail system!
