tein s techs installed!

just did a self install on tein s techs last night! two of my buddies helped with the install...shout out to them june & arnel (vw owners). took us 6 hours for everything. a lot of hard work but no problems encountered...just those hard to remove bolts! nothing a little wd40 could fix!

here's the stock pic...

tein's ride height is 1.8 front and 1.4 rear...nice tuck! ride is awesome! not at all jarring...honestly, i was expecting a harsher ride but not at all! got rid of body roll and car now feels glued on fast corners! this is a perfect compromise of handling, comfort and looks! i definitely recommend it...

looks good. I've had mine in for nearly a year. They survived canadian winter too. after a month or two, they will soften up just a little bit. BTW, I found the rear springs were a PITA to seat on the rubber cusion. Did you as well?

Thumbs up Nice Ride Height

Stellar_Bc,

Awesome ride height. 1.8" is pretty significant. I wish mine would go that low. I'm llimited to 1.25" You don't have rubbing in the front fenders while turning hard and applying brakes? What brand are those? Did you get just the springs or came with the struts too? Love the blue! Very nice side skirt! I didn't noticed that from your previous pictures.
You need to take that down here to VA so we could check it out.

Carrera Mike---no rubbing at all...they are tein s tech...you can check out their website www.tein.com i just installed the springs...still riding on stock struts...i'd love to take it down there in VA.....if i had a flatbed! (imagine the stonechips ang mileage!)
maybe i will if there's a kenwood in-dash dvd player waiting for my ride...or maybe a nice set of racinghart cr rims!

kargoboy---i got them from a group buy from toprotege.com set up by oneflipp5 (Lee)...i think he's still looking for buyers...

BC_Stellar, Does the spring rate matches the stock shock bound and re-bound rates? As long as it feels stable on a wavy, uneven roads I guess.

Talk about stone chips I just had my bumpers re-sprayed 5 mos ago and I already have 3 big ones But hey, June made it here with his brand spanking new VW

I have the Teins S with stock struts (90,000 kms on them ) . the struts are controlling the springs no problem .actually they seem to match very well . I am not sure how long they will last ,but i do plan on replacing the struts with Tokico Illuminas next spring .

There's a audio shop here that matches any advertised internet price. So If you find what you like, we'll print out the add and take it to their shop and they'll give it to us for that price.
I got a set of Pioneer component speaker from them which were priced $325 just for $170. They're the ones with aramid fibers.
Anyways... maybe you'll get to come here one day, or we'll be up there next summer.

i think they are pretty much matched up...

Factory springs:
front 121 lbs/in rear 97.5 lbs/in

Tien S-Tech:
front 179 lbs/in rear 145lbs/in

it handles even beter now that i had an alignment.

Wow! that's a good deal you got for those speakers...maybe i will go down there and check it out!

Cool

Stellar,

I saw this picture, even though it has sports suspension, it still bottoms out on extreme cornering forces. Just a thought.

Thats a nice wheel you have pictured. Are you getting the chrome, silver, or do they come in black? How much do they weigh?? Just my 2 cents, don't get anything heavier than 21lbs. IMHO, anything heavier than that has a lot of unsprung weight. How much are they by the way?

Hey Stellar, I am buying the S Tech's for my P5...did you have instructions for installing the springs? I have not done any suspension work in the past, so I am pretty clueless and I do not want to pay to have them installed. Also, did you pay to get them aligned after the install? Thanks, Brad.
