question

i have lowered my protege5 1 weeks ago. my friend told me should get the struts with it , but i didn't. what 's the problem if i just change the springs.....(hope u guys tell me no problem with it....coz i have no money to put them in) thanks

When you lower the car, the struts are under load more, and therefore fail sooner. How much is your drop? You should be fine driving around on them for a little while. Make struts the next thing on your 'to buy' list.

i lowered for 550 CAD.....is that mean i should change the struts as soon as possible??

Hahaha, I meant how much did it lower the car? We use inches here in the states, like 1.5", 2"... Dunno what that works out to in mm. The lower your car is, the harder it is on the struts. I'm not sure about any good struts for the lowered 3rd gens. I'm sure the other members can pick up my slack.

sorry about that.... front 1.4" and rear 1.2"

Sounds like the Eibach pro kit. This thread might help ease your mind:

Just drive safely, and they struts should last a good while yet. By then, there should be some good performance struts released.
