Went around and asked this very same question at local auto repair shops - most of them will NOT install lowering springs for you. Something about liability. Pep shop qouted me about $300 bucks, plus the cost of alignment. My dealership agreed to do it for me and qouted $350 and said it would take half the day to do it. An audio/tuner shop said they'd do it for $150-$180 bucks. I have't gotten my springs yet, but when I do, I'll be hitting up the audio and tuner shops around here for the best price.

I paid $120 at a local speed shop. I have a friend who works there, so I got a hookup. Otherwise it would have been $150-200 depending on the car.

I say look in your local phone book for the all the auto customizing and speed shops in your area and go there. All the auto repair shops will overcharge you and want to keep your car all day. I went to a local repair shop and they wanted $350 and they also wanted to keep my car overnight. Took my P5 down to the local speed shop and it only set me back $140 (w/o alignment) and they only kept my car for an hour and a half.

Only bitch I found about changing mine over was the fact that I had to take out the panel behind the rear seats, and also take off the seatbelts to get at the strut mounts. But other than that it's a really simple job to do yourself.

To the above post: Does your price of $100.00 include a "full alignment" with it?

Hmm. $80 USD is a lot for alignment isn't it?

I payed $40 CAD and got to help and learn as well. Pretty cool stuff.

I believe that a pretty competive price for "Bay Area", which happens to have the HIGHEST cost of living in the states, except Hawaii.

Example
*******
Bay Area: 1 bedroom apartment: $1,000 per month (minimum)
3 bedroom house: $350,000 to 800,000 to $$$$$$$$

Compared to "other parts" of the country, it's very expensive to live out here........but it's worth every penny.
