Well I'm sick of people leaning against my car at work. We get a new group every 2 weeks and have to tell at least two of them to get the f*ck off my car. My corvette had a sweet alpine unit that worked perfect, no falsing and shrunk to the interior properly so it wasn't nuisance. Had it set to about a foot around the car, worked great.

Haha, yep that's me. It got really annoying after a couple months, cuz I know it would chirp ALL the time and I started ignoring it after a while. So I turned down the proximity fields all the way down and just kept the shock sensor intact so it only chirps on contact.

I guess as long as you can keep it under control it's a good thing to add. The one I had was just way too big of a nuisance.

"upgraded" my cup holder - however, after putting it in the console, i don't like it. it doesn't match the sides of the console, and it renders the lower middle pocket pretty much useless. i used to stick my sunglasses in there, but they won't fit with the new cup holder, since its taller.

i might end up selling it to recoup my costs.

(oh, and i threw a couple other gratuitous shots of my car from today, too)

does any one know if the 99-00 center console is interchangeable with the 2001+ center console?

^^ the center console with and without the door over the cupholders.. there was a change. see how for you, the cupholder part sticks up over the sides of your console?

check this:

it's flush on the 2002.5+ console. I did a comparison (and took pics.. but dunno where they are) showing the differences between the console and cupholder thing on a friend's MP3 vs my car. It's really interesting that they actually redesigned the center console just for 2002.5-2003.5

edit: maybe the console didn't change, just the angle at which the cupholder unit sits?

^^^ well, the parts manual i have has a different part number for the console starting with the 3-1-02 model

now, i'm thinking of getting a 99-00 dx console, since it doesn't have an arm rest for the MFJDMW yo!!! - anyone have one they want to get rid of?

I can attest to the fact there are differences between the center consoles of the '99-00 and '01-03 models. One of them has more mounting screws than the other (IIRC it's the earlier ones that have more). Also, there was a change in the height of the emergency brake.
