Yes, take out the bulbs and make sure that you do NOT touch them with your fingers. Otherwise they won't last very long when you put them back in.

i think the question is.. what's a bulb?

front bumper removal isnt bad, even I can do that (if i have too..) I do need to align my headlights / repaint them / stupid hot turn parking light bulbs ftl

that wasn't the point. The point WAS that it took longer to post the question than it did to just take them out and be done w/ it.

The how-to does not say, "you don't have to take the bulbs out". It doesn't say anything about the bulbs at all.

When it's so easy to remove the bulbs, why not just take them out and be on the safe side? Anyway, removing the tiny fragile glass bulbs before baking will facilitate the whole process.

It's great to ask questions. These forums are all about information proliferation. But use a little critical thinking first--you'll develop skills, and you'll find you can overcome many problems on your own. That's a rewarding experience you're missing out on!

it says u have to remove nothing other than the waterproof ring... that would mean, no need to remove bulbs... inference, which by the way is critical thinking. and it's called, assurance. u know a second opinion... kinda like how people go to doctors for second opinions...

^^^ROFL!

As for front bumper, it's quite easy. I just set down a blanket and got out a screwdriver the other day and went at it! There are really only 8 bolts/screws to worry about.

There are 2 inside each wheel well (plus the plastic ones you have to take out to get inside the front of the wheel well.

2 under the car, they are bolts, but it should be obvious which ones are holding the bumper.

The last 2 are the ones holding the grille. Take these out, so you can remove the grille, which makes taking the bumper off a piece of cake.

Once you do it, you'll wonder why you were even worried about it, and this comes from a guy who can barely install a CAI or change his oil

You're my kinda man J. That's pretty much how I got started. "Weeeeell, looks like I need to [insert repair / project here]." Check a how to if it's there, and go to town. I think the timing belt and water pump on the miata was the scariest one I've had to do.
