Is the roofrack on a P5 an option??

Looking around at some pics I have seen a few P5's without the roofrack. Is this an option or have some people just removed them.

Thanks

The Roof Rack is standard in the states and in Canada it is an option. So the cars that you are seeing without the roof rack are most likely Canadian cars.

Thanks. I really like the looks w/o the rack but I guess I would be stuck with it. Unless I get the Canuck Edition.

I saw someone on another board remove theirs. Supposedly, your local Mazda dealer can order the weather strip to cover the gutters after they've been removed.

I took my rack off. Its not 100% off . There is still two black tracks going down the side. You should have gotton the covers when you bought the p5.

There are really two things you are referring to when you say "remove" the rack.

The first one is removing the cross bars. This leaves the two tracks in place which run the length of the roof. When the car is new, you get four plastic covers to cover the holes left by removing the cross bars.

Another option is removing the tracks altogether, which means the cross bars and two rails. Doing this will require some kind of cover I guess but it's been done on the board.
