I just got a 2003 Protege 5 with 38,00 miles. The dealership is offering a extended warranty of 5year/50,000 miles, starting now, with a $50 deductible for $1,600. I'm wondering what kind of repair cost should I expect and is this worth it? Thanks

 

i would decline. By the time you factor in total cost (including interest) it will cost more than one minor and one major repair for the life of the warranty period. The experience with the car is that it is reliable. You would way better off saving that money in a seperate repair & mod fund.
