Question

I recently purchased a 2003 protege es, because the mazdaspeed's the place had, had engine problems and hail damage and I needed a car now

I figured that it would be possible to just do upgrades to my car to make it pretty much exactly like the mazdaspeed

For those of you that own mazdaspeeds or know about them, what all do I have to do besides like body kits and stuff, I would really appreciate the help.

not a whole lot to do as far as appearrance, the stereo is gonna need to be upgraded, a turbo is needed, and the interior and rims need to be changed, personally i think you chose the right route because the turbo on mazdaspeed is kind of weak for somehting engineered by callaway and i'd go with the BEGI kit.

Well to start a turbo... The big difference is going to be that the mazdaspeed is turbocharged, other than that brake upgrade, suspension upgrade, bascially the MP3 body kit, rims, tires, there's some major differences... I say instead of making your car look like somthing that other people can just buy, why don't you go for more of an individual look to your car. Wingswest makes some nice kits, and lots of different rims to choose from, I mean the options are endless for modding your car, I guess how deep are your pockets???

first off to both 2003proes and TXMazdaspeeder, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to our Club. There are TWO BIG fridge'S in the corner with anything you can think of in them...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have.

make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

2003proes....for what it will cost you in parts alone to totally upgrade the ES to a MAZDASPEED.....you could drive your ES around while you locate a Mazdaspeed then trade it in on it...even the beating you will take on the trade in will not be any where near as much money as you will spend getting the parts for your upgrade.
