Question Part Exchanges

Ok this may sound stupid but liek i said i am new to the whole Mazda Protege Zoom-Zoom life. i wanted to know if parts for the Protege5 or Mp3 will fit my LX, lik eintakes and so on and so fourth, are the engines the same? and for that matter what is the Engine Code for a 2002 Protege LX? sorry if this has been covered already but i am new and curious, thanks and any info will help.

Parts should interchange from cars with the 2.0L engines. The engine code first two letters are FS, not sure about the last two letters.

if you have the 2.0 liter engine, all the engine intake and exhaust parts are already there. the only thing i see worth while to upgrade would be the brakes and suspension bits. the LX might have a different gearbox or final drive, too.

It doesn't. All 2.0L cars have the same manual tranny.

Also, except for the P5's strut brace, the suspension is the same on all North American 2.0L cars except the MP3 and MSP.
