P5 or ES???

OK, an age old question I am sure, but what are the big differences, really. I know one is a wagon and one is a sedan...I know the changes are there for the front end and the strut tower brace, and I think different tires...but is there any other difference? I dig the Sedan, but I am thinking the wagon would be more practical..just don't know. Then again the seats do fold down in the sedan...arrg! Is it worth the extra grand for the P5? With rebates and such the way they are now, I could get a sedan ES for under 16...and a P5 for under 17 with the features I want. and input?

for 2003, the differences are minimal, but it seems like you got most of them. another one is the pro5 has a leather steering wheel and the sedan has a plastic one.

personally, i think the sedan handles a little better when you get the strut bar installed. the rear is a little stiffer without the hatch, and the pro5 weighs a little more. also, you are not getting more storage space with the pro5 because it is shorter than the sedan.

The P5s headlights are nicer and it comes with the body kit . about the storage space, if you take the rear seats down on the P5 you've got a LOT more cargo room than in the sedan.

I bought my sedan mainly because it weighs less than the wagon. Less weight = better acceleration + better handling. Also, I couldn't picture myself driving a *gasp* WAGON!

Get the sedan. The wheels and tires are actually the same. I even like the sedans headlights better because they are blacked out. With that extra 1000 dollars you will be saving you can get the Mazda lip, side sills, and rear valance.

It all depends on what you need

I kind of like the fact that someone's fit a full size clothes washer, and I was able to fit a full size tiller in the back of my P5. I can throw a 4x8 sheet of plywood on top, and stil have room for 8-10 8ft 2x4's inside. I LOVE the versatility of the wagon.

I say get the sedan, I love mine its great

I love the looks of the P5 but its just not me

Edit and btw... I just fit 4 16" Ford Focus Wheels w/ tires in my trunk... and only had to put the seat down to make the 4th one fit...all of them would have fit if the trunk arms werent there
