welcome MP5Girl!!!

without some serious $$$ and major engine work, you'll probably gain maybe 10hp out of typical bolt-ons...

but welcome nonetheless!

I think $400 - $500+ is serious money. You are going to spend at least that for a after cat exhaust and CAI just to get an extra 10 hp

So we're talking like a whopping 140hp? LOL geez... Now I'm missing my bird.
Maybe I'll trade this for the RX8

Nah, there are other things, just check out the forums a little more or try the search or Protege FAQ at the top of the screen you can find a bunch of useful stuff there. I like my protege more for its handling than for the speed.

If we're discussing hp at the crank, then my P5 has about 150+ for around $800. Would you say that is 'serious' money?

HI 27 M NJ
welcome

Throw in another engine...Mazda has 170 HP turbo that might fit in there...put some nitrous in and your ready to ZOOOOOOM.

I might suggest 5 point safety harnesses and a very strong arm to help control torque steer.

; )

For the "Just above Poverty" crowd... yeah $800 is a bit much. I'm thinking more like $80...
I guess I'll forget about the performance part and just make her look real pretty. Isn't attitude worth about 10hp?

Does anyone here have side decals w/ pics?

I will agree this little car has some seriously nice handling for a wagon. I frequent quite a few turns at higher speeds.

They've got some pick up too... skreeching in second does get you a double take.

Has anyone checked their 1/4s?
