hi everyone im new to mazdas let alone my msp i planned on starting my car off with an injen cai but heard stories that an intake can decrease the performance of my car is this true? quick replys appreciated i plan on ordering it asap

never heard of that happening. If it did, it would be a first. A CAI will only give you a small gain, but it's always a good start.

Depends on how well the stock shit is designed, and how well or poorly the CAI is designed. It'll definitely have an effect on the powerband, and while there may be a measurable gain at certain RPMS, it may come at the cost of a loss at other RPMs.

Power losses? Can't say I've noticed any with my Injen CAI. If anything, it's just alot of noise, with some kick at about 3k rpm.
