New Battery and Plugs. Any Suggest?

Well, I'm in the middle of replacing my alternator. As I'm doing this, I'm thinking of upgrading the battery, and maybe plugs.

Is there a recommended battery, or a good high input one to use. My system uses a noticeable amount of power, and I'd like to have the best unit I can get to keep it all powered.

As well, for spark plugs, should I just go with the regualr stock ones, or are there good aftermarket ones to pick. There's a lot of choice out there, but I want to make sure I get the best units for my car, as well as not overpaying for junk.

Thanks for any help.

I just bought one from wal-mart, all the big boys like Consumer Reports and such has their batteries rated at the top especially for what you spend on them. Just my 2 cents though.

optima makes the best deep cycle battery. the RED battery is the sport compact battery however most people use the yellowtop because it's "faster"

i have a red top and works just fine, didn't get a yellow top because the said it wouldn't fit. but like the battery very much, lights don't dim as much anymore.

FWIW, I have the ngk zfr5f-11 long reach plugs installed, noticed no improvement in driveability or performance. I get some pinging when I use less than 89 octane mid-grade. I'd go with the stock ngks or densos. just my opinion.
