So i have a Blue MP3 with about 8500 miles on it and nw they are coming out with this TURBO PROTEGE. So i call my dealer and try to find out what is goin on if i can trade it in and to find out how many they are getting. SO they said it would be no problem to trade my car in and they put me on a waiting list and i was number 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......YEAH BABY!!!!!.....but should i get it...if you think about it the insurense will probably be a lot of money for this TURBO car and ill probably have a higher payment....i owe like 17000 on my finance and this car is gonna go for like 25k....what do u guys think?????......also it is ORANGE......EWWW!!!!....it has to come in another color...has to ...

 

I say keep the MP3, and wait a bit for the factory turbo kit from Mazdaspeed to show up (wild guess: end of 2003 maybe?).

I don't really like the orange either, and YES there is another color - BLACK MICA. That should be very cool looking

i believe they said it was going to be out in like fall...probably around holloween....how corney can they get....but blk....that would be hott color...i like blk....but the blue MP3 is tha **** as far a color goes...i need the turbo though.....i a m gonna let u guysin on a lil secret that i was gonna do with my car the MP3....
when it was outta warrenty 36k miles on it....i was gonna replace the engine with the j-spec...keep the other in the garage build it up to be a strong turbo beast(forged internals, lower compression iron sleaves) basically the works to make the engine with stand my turbo with high psi...run the j-spec till i get gets old, put a turbo on it blow that engine and put the turbo on the fs engine and be happy.....it would be alot of work.......so this turbo mps is a shortcut....i might consider taking.....it also has limited slip, anohter short cut.....what u guys think??

 

IMO the lazer blue mica MP3 has THE BEST color out of all Proteges, but I like blue in general, as you can see in my sig, so I'm biased

I wouldn't even bother getting the J-spec engine (FS-ZE right?), save the money now, and get the MS turbo AND LSD when they come out in a year or so (my guess), and then you can start upgrading the engine internals and turn up the boost!!!

 

i dont know if i would rely on the mazdaspeed to hit the states?....i dont know i heard somthing ...i will have to do more research about it

 

My dealer said, they may have a turbo protege /w 4wd.....coming out after the turbo!!!!By the way I think the turbo is still lack of power.....only 170hp......I should be at least 200hp, man!!!!!!!!

 

I think it's only 170 because they kept the engine internals stock and the boost low, so it's easier to make turbo kits for regular Pros. The logical thinking (to me at least) would be for Mazdaspeed to later on to make engine upgrade parts available to allow boost increase and voila, MORE POWER!!!

 

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....houston dealers are ******* stupid!!!!!!!!!....i have called three dealers and none of them have any idea what i am talking about ...and dont offer to find out anything.....i have hung up on two of them because they are morons! does anyone have a phone # of someone i could speak to ....i dont care if it is a dealer or rep ...i just dont care ...please anyone

Most dealers are idiots, if you want more info you should call Mazda USA customer service at 1-800-222-5500.

Although they probably aren't that much better than the local dealers

 

well i kind of figured they would not have specs on the car, what i wanted i have posted in onother thread and never got a answer so i was going to do some research on it ...what i wanted to know is (maybe you could help me,trying to ween out b.s.) someone told me that the turbo pro may not hit the states because of a new "0 tolerance" on emisions, or if they do that they will have to tune it down?...do you know anything about this?
