Ok... so i've been checking out cars and my mind is pretty much set on getting a mazdaspeed protege. Now today i went to the dealer to see if they had any brochures and to get any info. i could from the dealership. I talked to this guy and told him what i was looking to do. Then he went on about how they are getting a new shipment on the 15th of this month. New 2004 mp3 cars. Now i see by this forum that these cars have been around for some years, but he made it out to be like it was a new vehicle that has not yet been out/made! Anybody got info. on this?? He was trying to tell me that this is a new model that is revamped from the protege and made it seem better!

Now since i noticed the mp3 has been around for some years already.....is the 2004 mp3 gonna be different?? Or did he just not know what he was talking about?! Basically i just wanna know whats up so i can find out what this '04 mp3 is all about and decide if i still want the msp.

Eh, apparently there has been some confusion. There is no 2004 Protege, period. The MP3 was a 2001 only model, and the Mazdaspeed is a 2003 / 2003.5 model only.

What he is talking about, is the new Mazda 3, the sucessor to the Protege. At this time there is no factory performance oriented version of the car like the Mazdaspeed version of the Protege. The 3 may have some good capability to become a high performance car by end user modification (which we are all hoping), but it can't quite be said yet due to the fact that it's just coming out. There may be a Mazdaspeed 3 at some point in time, but not yet.

the mazda 3 does have some after market parts so it looks like its going to be an alright car
