Get a Buick Grand National or any older Mopar and you have a 500 hp in the waiting machine.

Or..

Get and older RX-7 and run a TON of boost.




That being said, I got a P5 cause it's pretty and Mopars are not.

i totally think that buick motorsports are sweet and ridin in a crazy old souped up buick is sweet but i'm more of the sport compact persuasion.

I'm still wrestlin with which car i would actually get to soup up that was used. Definately supra, rx-7, or 240. The rx-7 just seems like a very big gamble. I soooo love the look of the 7 but it seems like the age and miles on every 7 and the problems with all the trims except the 2 special editions that come with the extra oil coolers and squirters i don't think i would go with it. Also those things eat oil and gas like its goin outta style and stink like ass b/c of the design of the intake/exhaust ports.

Now the 240 and the crazy possibilities of the prevelent SR20DET and the capacity of the 2JZ-GTE to make close to 500hp on stock components is sooooo inviting :D

Launched at 2700 rpms no wheel spin, just a chirp and gone - he also launched well too, and every shift was quick near redline. I just think both good drivers - different cars and the lude Sr came out on top. I just think the race should've been closer. Perhaps he had some internals done cuz he already had a 1/2 length on me by the end of 2nd.

i launched at 2700 on stock tires. Anything higher would've had wheel spin. Had a chirp and gone.

2700?! that's no launch. launch is from about 4000rpm with a good wheelspin. dont need to dump the clutch, just let it slip a tad while the wheel start to spin and then engage completely while you play with your throttle angle.

2700... that's a sissy launch. :D hahaha.

4000rpms? with a good wheel spin? Yeah... that'll get you very far. At 27-3000rpm i can dump it and launch with no spin but a chirp.

that's why you're so slow. and dumping the clutch at 2700 rpm (or now, its 3000rpm..tomorrow it will be 4000rpm) will still hurt the tranny more than slipping it and giving wheel spin at 4000rpm.

the point is, you need to play with your throttle. you dont just slam the gas...at 3000rpm, you're probably bogging too.


edit; btw, you know im just kidding with ya right? :D but
your launch rpm is too low. try 4000rpm with decent wheel spin and not just a chirp.

a stock vtec prelude (93-01) runs mid 15 second 1/4 miles times (with the mods you say he has then he should be high low 15's/ high 14's)...he must have been lying about it being a vtec model...he probably owned the base "s" model with ~120hp (1992-1996)

a stock pr5 5spd runs high 16s / low 17s 1/4 miles times

2700 is way too damn low.
