Hydra ECU?

A friend of mine just put one of these in his turbo Impreza and is loving it.

They list Protege as "under development" but list price as $1350.

Link here

Anyone familiar with this product?

Thanks,

Chuck

That would be sweet, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I suggest all of us interested partyies email 'em (i did) - just to 'help guide them' to continuing the development. They need to see a viable market for the product!

The $/hp increase looks kinda' iffy, tho'... It would have to match a Haltech (or even the boost i get from a MP3ECUswap! for ~$500 for me (na, few mods) to buy it... It would have to literally 'PlugnPlay by swapping a ecu connector or somesuch... I am not going to dyno - optimize it...

My buddy who has this ECU for his Subaru Impreza says that it is plug 'n play for him, and that the performance difference was very impressive. I did email the guy on the web site, and heard back just last night that "We are thinking about it... it depends if we can get the ford ECU connector or not." I have no idea what this means exactly.

Is the Haltech a piggy back or full ECU replacement? Does it give you any control over timing, or just fuel?
