Ok, I got the unit installed and took a few pictures of it (attached).
The only tricky part was finding a spot for the unit to mount - there is not much free space under the hood of a Protege (or most modern cars I suppose). It just fits in the spot by the power steering fluid tank and is also sitting right between the washer tank and the nozzles. The supplied wires are a good length for running across the back of the engine bay to the battery. It's not freezing here, but the unit seems to work ok, the washer fluid is steaming in the cool air. |
if you want spray nozzles instead of stream, 2002 civics have NICE spray, like windex out of a bottle

It's official.
These: http://images.canadiantire.ca/media/...0_CC_4f28f.jpg are indeed crap, as expected. |
You can find them on Crutchfield.com too if you can't find a price for them. Always been curious about them, but hopefully will never need them. Being here in sunny Florida and all!

Of course, now there is a recall on some of the HotWash units...
The relay can stick and burn the unit out. |
Ok, mine was not an affected unit, but I had to remove it and look at the back of the housing to find out.
