I got my B&M short shifter ($135) for Christmas and I think it's one of the best upgrades I've done. I no longer feel like I'm rowing a boat when flying through the gears. Now I feel more like I'm driving my dad's 10AE miata. Not as smooth as it once was, but a whole lot faster. If you were contemplating doing this....DO IT! It was well worth it.

Yeah I know what you mean by the miatas shifting ability. I think I'll take a look into that B&M short shifter. I love the way my miata shifts.
Do you have a part number?

Yeah, It's B&M #45071(92-02 Escort/ZX2 & Mazda MX-3/Protege) I called Nopi and a bunch of other places but no one had the part number even in the computer yet. So I got mine from Summit...they had one in stock. Took it like 4 days or so to get here to NC.
