Gear Oil
Does anyone know the gear oil capacity of a 2001 Protege (2.0)?
|
No, I wouldn't have posted this question if it was already there. Gimme a little more credit than that man.
|
Yeah I'm sure. My manual lists engine oil, coolant, transaxle oil, and the fuel tank capacity.
|
I believe it is 2.8 Liters but I will have to verify that
|
I've read somewhere on this forum that 3 quarts will do. I haven't verified that with my manual yet.

Thanks, I'm a dumba$$. I knew that before I even asked and brainfarted for a few hours.

2.7 liters and 2.9 US quarts
(edited: I hope search will pick this up next ime) |
Which brings up the question why can't Mazda use whole numbers? Not exactly like I can go buy 2.9 quarts of transmission fluid. Same thing with oil. Eh. Just venting.
|
That's because you'll buy 3 quarts and spill some on the ground (like I did) :)
So they actually take care of sloppy do-it yourselfers ;) Alex |
