Factory PSI

I checked my car's PSI tonight...I've had it for like 2 weeks but haven't touched the tires. First three were between 30 and 31.5...but when I checked the rear passenger side...I get a reading of 42. So I recalibrate the thing, check it again...42. Let air out and keep checking it over and over...41...39...37. Bastards really did have it that high...

What's up with that?

Probably they filled it up to the MAX PSI listed on the side of the tire rather than the recommended amount written on the doorjamb. It would be done at the dealer, of course, as I'm sure on the trip from Japan it'd lose air!

Not sure of the height of the deck of the ship our cars came over on, but if it was extremely limited clearance, they may have even slightly deflated the tires from the factory for the boat ride.
