well, i've already removed one just by picking at it with what i have of a fingernail, that was just after washing the car... last night i was trying to do the other side and it didn't go quite as well... maybe i'll just try doing it after washing the car... i think a body shop might be a little extreme... as for why.. well.. originally just because i think it looks more clean, and now because one is completely gone and the other is about an 1/8 gone..

the way i did mine i used a razorblade, but all i did was pull the corner up and then pulled it off. after that, i used goof-off(local home depot) and just rubbed the sticky **** off. wasnt much to it!

wow, i pulled mine off the day i bought it, or the day after, and used my finger nail to start peeling it and it came right off, both of them done in like half a minute, no residue left behind or anything, now the side moldings across the door is another story! i started doing those but haven't finished yet cuz it leaves a layer of glue with that grey **** stuck to it........
