Driver's side Window on P5..

Anyone's driver's side window sound messed up when you roll it up/down? It's a hard noise to explain.. but basically it sounds like it's about to die. This is an intermittent problem.. sometimes it makes the noise, sometimes it doesn't.

Yes mine does, sounds like a little rattly, creaky kind of noise. Gonna get it fixed at the next oil change.

That's what warranties are for!

All P5's are still under warranty (unless you are REALLY driven...).

I don't have a Protege5, but my Protege LX does that too. I don't think anything's broken, that's just the way it sounds.

My passenger side doesn't sound like that, so I am assuming that something is loose/wrong.

My driver's-side window was doing the exact same thing. The dealer replaced the window regulator, which solved the problem. I've had creaky window problems on both of my previous cars (Honda, VW) and for those the dealers just lubricated the regulator, but the Mazda guy told me lubrication is only a temporary fix.

Window blues too

I haven't noticed any window noises , but I did notice once I got my tint done that the window dosen't roll up strait, you can see a bit of un-tinted glass at the rear of the window as you up the window. None of the other windows do this...and my dealer said it's normal...Jesus McF**ckin' Christ what a load of sht! Atleast it's documented in the computer that I had a concern (although a customers concern means sht to the dealer untill you call HQ!) If I have problems 2 years from now...

I'm more than half done with my warranty - 27,000 miles in 13 months.

Not sure what you mean by "you see un-tinted glass" - wouldn't this mean that the tint was installed crooked? Could you post a pic of what you are talking about?

I can take my window and rotate it in the track...like it's loose, ever owned an old chev? The tint isn't crooked because I can't see clear glass unless I'm raising the window.

On a similar note, now that I am listening for rattles and stuff, my sunroof makes a grinding noise in the last half of the track when opening. Mazda appears to have issues when glass is involved.

I'm having the same problem as you!

Both the driver side window AND my moonroof make creaky/grinding noises... WTF!?!?
