Question Does Your Cruise Work in the Cold?

Mine doesn't. Sometimes when it is cold out (< -15C) my cruise control will not activate. The light on the dash comes on but the car immediately starts slowing down when I take my foot off of the gas. It does this sometime, but not all the time, it appears to be random.

Anyone else have this problem?

I don't use mine very often, but it's worked every time so far.

Nope, no problems here in the cold....BUT, in winter, you shouldn't use cruise control anyway. Icy roads and cruise control don't mix.
Yeah, I know, but when the roads look clear I'll take the risk. Besides, Regina to Calgary is an awfully long way to drive with your foot on the gas.

Strange. I don't think I'll bother getting this checked out at the dealer as it seems to be somewhat common and hard to recreate. For now I'll live with it, besides I bought the 4+ year MAP plan so I've got lots of warantee left.

On a different note, I've been doing some reading over at i-club.com (the subaru site) as I WAS somewhat interested in getting a WRX. After reading all the horror stories about rattling clutches, check engine lights, and blown transmissions I think I'll stay away. For comparisons sake the Protege looks like the most reliable car on the planet, I hardly hear of ANY problems on this board.

Kris - happy with his Pro!
