Difference between 2002 & 2003 MP5?

Ok, I’m confused. I bought a used P5 at the end of April that was originally sold in August 2002 (California). It’s a Classic Red 5speed with leather interior, side markers, no lid on the cup holder, moon roof, and 1 CD – 6 speaker sound system (no spare mounted sub). What model year is it?
Should this car have come with the sub in the spare? I had to take it back after I got it because the speakers in the rear doors weren’t working. Originally they said it needed a new radio and they ordered another under warranty. When the radio finally came in they went to install it and found that the rear speaker wires had been cut.
Does anyone know where I can get the spare mounted subwoofer? I’ve looked on the net and in the Mazda on line websites but I can’t find anything.

You have a 2002.5 (It was a genuine mid-year refresh of the Pro5).
