Did you replace your keyless entry unit's battery yet?
Well, I did!:) , since it's been around two years when I got the car, and the range of the unit has decreased alot.
I still remember the time when the unit had madz range and I locked and unlocked the car at very far distances. I tested it several times today, but the range while better, it's unlike new. Is there another factor besides the battery that causes the lessened range? |
I haven't replaced mine yet. 3 years 9 months still going strong!!
|
had to replace mine, didn't notice any difference in range. one of them actually had the metal bracket on the inside come loose, and I had to solder it back on, then repeated. Better than buying a new one for $80. I digress.

my car didnt come with a keyless :bonk:

NOPE not yet....but its probably the battery...
its probably like watch batteries....ever noticed how the battery that comes in a watch will last about 3-5 years....then the replacement batteries will die at or within a year? that sucks too....I would expect your remote entry battery that you just replaced to be dead in about a year.... |
Nooooooooo!!!! Just one year?
Oh well, at least it's not too hard to replace. Time to go down and test out thr range now.... |
I noticed it too. I noticed the range got really poor (ie. have to be within 10 feet of the car). So, I replaced the battery and its still no where as good as when new. I'm now looking at maybe 50 ft tops.
