For a cooler effect, couldn't you make something to use the duct in your hood?

Front bumper

I was wondering if the front bomper on your Protege is stock? It is different then the one on US Protege's

I did one similar to that but i retained the stock air box and piped it directly to the air box (w/k&n) and turned the overflow bracket 90 degrees so i can run the alluminum dryer tubing thru the hole in the fender well and since my ride does not have fog lights i have it facing the opening. something similar to what i did with my LT-1 Z-28 and it worked great
